from Pierre LeBrun of ESPN,
Burning question: Are the Leafs really rebuilding? No. Burke admitted it publicly to ESPN.com in July, saying he wasn’t about to sit back and do a Pittsburgh or a Washington and wait five years for this team to get better. He’s retooling with a short-term window in mind. The Leafs could surprise this season and challenge for a playoff spot, but their lack of scoring is a glaring weakness.

LeBrun: Burning question: Are the Habs any better?
My Answer:
Obviously the team is much better, offensively and defensively and they will have a better dressing room attitude as well.
Size is an illusion as everyone had Cammalleri, Gomez and Gionta pegged from day one as the #1 line.
Don’t be surprised to see Jacques Martin use a duo mentality, ie: C-W and rotate another size player on the line ie: Moen -Latendresse.
And when you take the team;s average size, they’re right up there with the Bruins. Chara throws the curve off a bit.
Bob Gainey went and got guys who are talented and have good leadership skills in the off-season. Many are they type who lead by example on the ice, much like he did in his career.
The coaching staff is much better with a proven NHL coach in Jacques Martin, an excellent goalie coach for Price in Groulx and a coach who can coach defensemen named Perry Pearn (something the team lacked before)
