Radulov Had No Support In Nashville

from David Boclair of the Nashville News,

The best players in the world play in the NHL, and ones who can score the way Radulov can (particularly at such a young age) are prized commodities. They are the ones who drive the market, even these days when the league operates with a salary cap and an uncertain financial future.

Had Radulov stayed with the Predators through last season, he would have been a restricted free agent this past summer. One way or another, he was going to cash in. Either the Predators would have locked him up with a long-term deal, or another team would have signed him to an offer sheet that would have guaranteed him a hefty salary. And Nashville still would have had the right to match the contract.

Instead, he went home to Russia because he felt like an outsider in his own locker room. His teammates did not support him. His coach did not support him.

Waaahh, whaaahhh, whaaahhh… cry, cry , cry.

Stay in Russia, you big baby.

Nevermind the fact that now with their young def. corps and with Sullivan back and healthy Radulov would make them a very dangerous team, and that he would probably push them over from a so-so team to definite playoff team.

Nooo, he has to take the tactic of a little kid and cry “But nobody likes me!”.  Probably not, wussbag… because you never learned what backchecking or defense were, the core of Nashville’s system.

Have fun floating or hanging in the KHL.  Just hope you don’t ever need medical attention on the ice, or have a contract dispute with your club and mysteriously are found comatose in a back alley somewhere.

Who is this Nashville reporter, and what does he know about hockey?
I think he is totally nuts to blame Barry Trotz for Radulov’s behavior.
So Trotz can coach weak players, but not talented ones?  Bullpucky!
Nashville is very lucky to have Trotz, one of the best coaches in the NHL.
