Check out the video from the Dallas/Colorado game back in November.
Video is about 6 minutes long and about 60MB.
Press release regarding the HD camera for the NHL All-Star Game.

I like the way the rail cam captures the rush up and down the ice. But once a team settles into the other team’s end, the camera feels too close to ice level. It was hard to see most of the goals scored, and a bird’s eye view of those plays would probably have been easier to watch. I still like it, especially if combined with the normal cameras.

If it’s more stable than the last time it would be a great addition.

The rail cam is irritating. It is in the side camera’s view. If the NHL/Versus wants to do something to provide a different camera angle, do what the NFL does by providing the overhead vectored camera.
The rail cam belongs with the blue camera trail that they tried to highlight the puck a few years back.
