Gainey is RETARDED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As much as I like him as a person, i have to completely agree with you here. How does anyone think Gomez at 7.35 million a year till 2014 is a good idea?
Just when you start to think that no one is as dumb as Sather, someone comes out of the woodwork and proves all convetional thinking wrong.

Assuming Higgins signs with the Rags, this is a good deal for them. It unloads a huge contract and gives them another scoring threat. It will also give the Rags some extra cap space if they are still so convinced they need to acquire a Vinny or Heatley big name guy.

This seems ... just ... strange for Montreal.
Good for the Rangers, though.

I’m guessing they’re making a big push toward Heatley. They had to dump off some cash to get it done. Dubinsky could play the second line while Drury takes the first if needed. I’m still surprised to hear the Habs did the trade though. I thought for sure they were going for Briere. I guess they’re still a little pissed after seeing him sign with Philly…

...and the Montreal fans react at Habs Inside/Out…

They are also reacting at Four Habs Fans:
Finally, the overpaid undersized center we’ve been dreaming of.
(They cuss a lot and it really isn’t safe for work AT ALL, so consider yourself warned!)
