GLENDALE, ARIZONA—Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have acquired left wing Lauri Korpikoski from the New York Rangers in exchange for right wing Enver Lisin.
Korpikoski, 22, appeared in 68 games with the Rangers last season as a rookie, recording 6-8-14 and 14 penalty minutes (PIM). He also collected two assists while appearing in all seven of the Rangers’ playoff games last season.

I love how the Rags keep obtaining these one-way, inconsistent players.
By the way, someone needs to tell Maloney to STOP trading with Sather. There ARE 28 other teams out there still… NYR seem to be Maloney’s go-to for trades.

Well of course Maloney’s going to trade with Sather. He’s getting all the guys he once drafted, that Sather doesn’t know what to do with.

Has Sather been fired yet? This guy keeps making worthless moves.

But who (I SAY WHO!) will now be giving Gaborik full body massages after he breaks a nail 5 games into the season to nurse him back to mis-health?!?
This is like trading a pomeranian for a yorkshire terrier…

The scouting report on Lisin is quite good. Some people are calling him a game breaker, and he seems to have more upside than Korpikoski.

Lisin actually has more upside then Korpikoski… He’s got some great speed, he needs to find some consistency though.
