Rangers Have Decisions To Make

The Rangers haven’t had any talks with G Henrik Lundqvist, who can become a restricted free agent July 1 and is making $4.25 million this season. The Rangers are going to have to pony up about $8 million per season on a new contract to fend off the threat of an offer sheet from a team looking for goaltending help. The Lightning, Kings and Oilers would all be in the running.
If the Rangers decide to trade W Jaromir Jagr at the deadline, Detroit is a possible destination.

And I should add, whether or not they have to “pony up $8 million a year” depends on Lundqvist. The Rangers are looking to sign him in January, before any offer sheets.

Garrioch is off his rocker again. As soon as Jan 1 hits, there will be a deal announced shortly. We knew this already when he signed the 1-year deal in the summer.

Me thinks Garrioch makes up some of this stuff/garbage.
