from Vicki Hall of the Calgary Herald,
Strike Curtis Glencross off the sheet of players set to test the open market on July 1. The scrappy left-winger has agreed to terms on a multiyear deal with the National Hockey League club.
Terms have yet to filter out, but the Glencross camp was seeking a significant raise on his $1.2 million salary and longterm security for at least four or five years.
A new dad, Glencross also liked the idea of a no-movement clause to protect his young family from the sudden upheaval of a trade.
Team officials refused comment Sunday night. Saskatoon-based agent David Kaye did not return phone calls.
Update 1:18pm ET: via TSN—
Curtis Glencross won’t be testing the free-agent market; the 28-year-old forward agreeing to terms on a four-year, $10.2 million deal with the Calgary Flames.
The deal, which has a no-movement clause, is a $2.55 million annual cap hit against the club.
