from TSN,
Alex Kovalev appears to be heading back to Russia, as sports website Sports Express reports that the veteran winger is set to sign a two-year contract with Atlant Mytishchi of the Kontinental Hockey League.
The 38-year-old is a 17-year NHL veteran who played for the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators.

for some reason the russians have not been that great lately. New Jersey’s sniper was off last year, so was washington’s duo. Malkin has had two years to forget in a row.

Sad day for me, he was my favorite player. Sad to read all of the horrible things that people say about Kovy. I wish him well.
