According to TSN’s Bob McKenzie’s tweet, the rumored deal of the Panthers’ Nathan Horton to the Bruins is a “done deal”.
UPDATE: Per Bob, the deal is Horton and Gregory Campbell for Dennis Wideman, 15th overall pick and another draft pick.

Robbed? Isn’t it a bit early to say who got the better of this deal?
Horton has massive upside and could benefit from a change of scenery. But let’s say the Panthers trade both picks (3rd & 15th) to EDM for Taylor Hall, then would you feel the same way? Horton for Wideman and Hall??? They’d have a far more competitve team next year. Even if they don’t do that deal, they will likely end up with two quality NHLers.

Hey Tony!
Couldn’t help but notice that you are “PK pro tem” whilst the site’s namesake gambles all his fortunes away in Sinister City. To that extent, you are doing a marvelous job keeping the news coming and being ahead of many other sites including ESPN. Job well done. Keep up the outstanding work.

This is an interesting deal. On the surface it looks like Florida may have been robbed. But Wideman just may be a late-bloomer whose best seasons are a few years away.

Boston probably counts on Boychuck’s continued development and a performance similar to that of Wideman for a cheaper price, hence they exchanged Wideman for some needed offensive help. Whether Florida was robbed in this deal remains to be seen (eg. Horton producing explosive offensive numbers), but the Florida defence corps looks decent with the addition of Wideman and they have another first round pick to build on.
