from the Hockey News,
Is Teemu Selanne coming back to the Anaheim Ducks?
GM Brian Burke will not confirm it, but a source in Anaheim told thehockeynews.com Selanne could be back skating with the team as early as next week.

Okay, this is getting tackier and tackier by the minute.
There has got to be a precedent for vacillating semi-retired players. It is NOT fair for the rest of the team that one or two guys are “excused” from the majority of the grind of the regular season only to come back to the team to assist in the management of the salary cap as circumvention. It’s total BS.

So is Niedermayer and Perry in the All-Star Game…

I agree, but at least Selanne is actually a free agent, unlike Niedermeyer, who just sat out of his contract.

I wonder if the NHL has invited Selanne to play in the AllStar game. I mean, if Niedermayer was invited for name recognition, what better way to get publicity than to invite a player of Selanne’s statue to the allstar as his first game back.
