I will miss “Gator” a great deal. Lupul...can go play in traffic against Colby Armstrong.

Great trade for the Oilers. I don’t know why the Flyers traded Pitkanen. They will regret this move big time methinks.

I know the Oilers wanted to get rid of Lupul, and tossing him out of a transcontinental flight might have been considered an option, but I’m surprised to see Smith going the other way too.

“I don’t know why the Flyers traded Pitkanen. They will regret this move big time methinks.”
Like they regretted trading Janne Ninimaa? Flyers history recently is littered with bigtime D prospects who never panned out. Pitkanen, Ninimaa, and let’s not forget Andy Delmore, who never did anything after he had that hat trick against the Pens in Game 5 in ‘00. Given that track record, and given what the Flyers got, this trade made lots of sense.
