from Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger,
Now that Scott Niedermayer has retired as an active NHL player, the Devils are considering retiring No. 27 at some point this season.
General manager Lou Lamoriello told The Star-Ledger no date has been set to raise No. 27 to the Prudential Center rafters aloingside Nos. 4 and 3. However, it could happen before the season is out.
“It’s a possibility,” Lamoriello said. “We’ll have some discussions about it. We’ll see. It’s something that should be considered.”
