from the IHL,
The International Hockey League is proud to announce that Muskegon Lumberjack right wing Robin Bouchard netted his 683rd career goal to become the all-time minor league goal scoring leader this evening (yesterday). Bouchard passes former Bloomington PrairieThunder forward Don Parsons (682), who has not played since the 2008-09 season. The record breaking goal was Bouchard’s 56th of the 09-10 season.

The Eastern League you mention is considered by some to have been more semi-pro and not really pro. I believe that is why his are not acknowledged. Johnstown fans hate that, but they’re not the ones calling it….
Then again, one could argue that this iteration of the IHL (or for Robin’s case, the CoHL/UHL/IHL) is dubious itself, for a flood of reasons… but that’s not for here I guess.

This is a great accomplishment but it is not an all-time minor league record. That record belongs to Dick Roberge, who scored 756 goals in Western, International and Eastern Hockey Leagues including 737 with the Johnstown Jets during his 18 year minor league career. I am fortunate to have a photo of Roberge holding his 700th goal puck in my private collection. Roberge exceed the 50 goal mark 6 times and went over 60 twice. Among his other accomplishments—he was one of the referees in Slapshot, the classic hockey movie filmed in Johnstown.
