Sabres Ranked Too Low

from Mike Harrington at Sabres Edge,
Quite an exciting day to get the mail and get my copy of the annual yearbook from The Hockey News....
Be sure to check out their conference predictions on Page 64. They pick Detroit to win the Stanley Cup again. No biggie. But the game’s premier publication has the Sabres 11th—yes, 11th—in the East. At this point in the summer, I’m still on the fence about the Sabres as a playoff team but I doubt they’re going to get worse either.
read on with the complete conference rankings for both conferences…
On a side note, you can purchase the digital version of the Hockey News Yearbook here. When you get to the page just click ”Yearbook 2008 Issue $3.99”.

The only difference between THN analysts and any serious hockey fan on any blog is one simple fact: They get PAID to make crazy idea’s up.

I’m with THN on this one. Has anyone paid attention to how horrible Ryan Miller actually is?
...then again, they do have Tampa coming in ninth, which is a tad high for a team without a single defenceman.

Boston #10...? The Bruins are top 6 easy. The East is awful. Of course THN had them #15 last year so it doesn’t matter. I’m sure they will put all Canadian teams in the playoffs.....well maybe not Toronto

Rankings? Really? I know there’s nothing to do in the summer for these analysts, but how about we wait until the games are played? Who’s going to get excited or mad at rankings?

Montreal, Pittsburgh and Washington as division winners? Gee, that’s really sticking their necks out there.
My money says 2 of those 3 won’t win their divisions, and one of them will be the HIGHLY overrated Habs (question mark goalie + soft defense + no 30-goal scorer = 7th place)

HAHA PRC I love you. I tell my friends that Ryan Miller sucks all the time, and it always begins a huge argument lol, I really do hate that man, he is really really overrated, and now incredibly over payed.

When the owners were told a forward was “defensive,” they thought they were getting a defenseman. At least, that’s the only reason I can think of why they didn’t bother to pick up any defenders in free agency.

I’ll just point out that last year THN had Montreal in 11th place i believe, and they ended in 1st.
And people actually look at this stuff like it is a credible source.
