Sale Of Panthers On Course

Panthers ownership is close to signing a purchase agreement to sell the team to a New York-based publicly held company that would keep the team at BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise.

But the deal is still a few months from closing.

The Panthers are working on finalizing a contract to sell to Sport Properties Acquisitions Corp., which was created last year to raise cash to buy sports teams, stadiums and other entertainment properties.

A couple of issues must still be resolved, but the deal is on track to be completed.
