Overall, sales of NHL-licensed merchandise on NHL.com were up nearly 75% compared to last February.
Twenty-nine of the 30 NHL teams outsold their February 2006 products on NHL.com. Leading the pack were the Buffalo Sabres, with a sales increase of more than 1000% compared to last year. Most notably, the Sabres dominated the top 10 in player jersey sales for the month. Jerseys bearing the names of Sabres forwards Daniel Briere, Maxim Afinogenov, Chris Drury, Thomas Vanek, Jason Pominville and goaltender Ryan Miller were top sellers on NHL.com. The newly available Nashville Predators jersey for Peter Forsberg accounted for more than 90% of total Forsberg player jerseys sold.
Other teams that more than doubled sales of merchandise include: Pittsburgh Penguins (237%), Anaheim Ducks (203%), Montreal Canadiens (177%), Edmonton Oilers (156%), Nashville Predators (120%),Vancouver Canucks (117%), New York Islanders (106%), St. Louis Blues (104%) and San Jose Sharks (103%).
