Save Of The Night

Brian Gionta thinks all he has to do is stuff the puck in the net, but Tim Thomas says not tonight.

Look closely at the slo-mo part.  The puck jumped over Gionta’s stick - then Thomas swatted it away.

after looking at the play slowed down, it appears the shaft of his stick hit the post just as the blade was about to make contact with the puck so he wasnt able to get anything at all on it… the puck was flat on the ice the entire time… the puck wouldve trickled in if thomas didnt swipe it away, but im thinking gionta barely touched the puck if at all… not to take anything away from thomas as he did a great job of staying with the play and finding the puck, but i dont think it was as impressive as its been made out to be.... just my 2 cents being a fellow goalie…

Gionta boffed it no doubt...but Thomas get’s at least 49% credit for not giving up.  Plus-->Glad to see Savard is still keeping his mouth active wink
