They’re done.
They know it. They won’t say it. And it ain’t official.
But they know.
Call the coroner. Order the wreath. Donate to a charity of choice.
The unmistakable stench of death is upon them.

Hopefully the overrating of Brent Sutter as a coach can come to an end. Us Devils fans were glad to see him go, hopefully Jacques the mastermind will get us a little farther into the playoffs.

Can’t say I am surprised when they acquired, what 5-6 players from the second worst team in the league - who didn’t want these guys…
I am sure there are bigger issues than that, but I am certain it is not helping their situation. Stajan is not a # 1 centre - no matter who he is playing with, Mayers is not an NHLer, Hagman looks great but the results are just not there - when White is the best player they picked up heading to the trade deadline perhaps we can see why they are not winning on Long Island!

When you make a 5 player deal with the worst team in the NHL aren’t you just reinforcing the “culture” of losing? Bowmeester is another one. Guys never win for a reason….....they’re losers.

D.Sutter is going to be out of a job (giving that ridiculous contract to Stajan was in and of itself grounds for dismissal, I think) and if the Flames axe B.Sutter as well (I think that would be a bad call) they will be on the hook for two more years for his contract while they pay another coach. Bad news all around, really. I love Iggy to death but I really feel like it’s time to give him the respect he deserves and trade him to a team that will GIVE HIM A LEGITIMATE #1 CENTER.
I seriously feel like a Leafs fan right now, this is really a painful time for me. Where is that pic of that skeleton in a Leafs jersey with the “fan waiting for a cup” sign”? I need to get a Flames jersey shopped onto that skeleton…
PS - Glad Phaneuf is gone but I do wish we could have gotten more quality for him. I mean, White is the only consistent guy in the bunch…

Sounds about right, as predicted in the preseason this team is highly overrated, and will fall well short of the postseason.
Sutter somehow succeeded in making the team even worse, can’t wait to see what the coming years of missing the playoffs will bring.
