Schedule Numbers

from John Kreiser of NHL.com,

Here’s a look at some of the more interesting numbers for the upcoming season:

0 — Games scheduled on Oct. 26, the only non-holiday or All Star-related date in the season on which there are no games scheduled.

1 — Games on Feb. 23 (San Jose at Dallas) and March 2 (Colorado at New York Islanders) — the only dates on which only one game is scheduled.

2 — Games on Nov. 28, when the United States celebrates Thanksgiving — and neither involves a U.S.-based team.

Apparenly, October 26th has all 30 teams playing that night, but also none of them?

Good proofing, NHL.com.

Good catch, Marty.  A quick look at the schedule indicates that Kreiser’s first point—that there are 0 games scheduled for October 26th—is correct.

As for the duplication, I presume he meant to note a different date that every team in the NHL is playing but made a typo.  Unfortunately, I’m not sure what date that’s supposed to be.

Hopefully it will be corrected quickly. smile

October 25

The Caps host the Sens on Nov 28.  Unless Uncle Ted has flown the coop and taken the team with him, I think we’re still very much an US-based team.  Hell, we’re in the US Capital city!  Also, we celebrate Thanksgiving on Nov 27 (a Thursday) here in the US.

Methinks this article has some problems.

Just a typo.  There are two games on Nov. 27th, when the US celebrates Thanksgiving, involving four Canadian teams (Leafs vs. Sens, and Flames vs. Luongo).
