Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have signed defenceman Mathieu Schneider. In keeping with club policy, terms were not disclosed.
Schneider, 40, spent the 2008-09 season spilt between the Atlanta Thrashers and Montreal Canadiens. In 67 games with Atlanta and Montreal, Schneider recorded 32 points (9-23-32) and 64 penalty minutes.
