Sean Avery—Decision Pending

From NHL.com:

After the meeting,  [Brett] Hull spoke to the media outside the building before leaving and said that he expected a decision by later today or Friday. Avery departed after Hull and did not speak to reporters as he was escorted to a waiting car.

If a decision comes down today from the NHL, we’ll be sure to update this post.

Incidentally, Eric McErlain at AOL’s NHL Fanhouse published an interesting interview today that relates to another recent Avery incident.

update 6:18pm, The NHL will release their decision Friday morning regarding Avery.

Not new to many, but it’s interesting that the team has removed Avery from their online roster on the team’s website.

And for those who thought that the organization was just stepping in line behind the League, it seems that they may have been making other unsuccessful plans.

The NHL controls the rosters and they removed his name due to the suspension.  Nothing more to it at this point.

I’ll have to keep an eye out for that, can’t say I’ve seen them doing a quick job of it in the past, but times to seem to be a-changin’ for the League and its speed in handling things.
