Season Long Funk For Jagr

from Bellowing Moose at MSNBC,
Not since Suzanne Somers’ one-woman show has Broadway seen an act as disappointing as the one Jaromir Jagr is putting on with the Rangers this season. And although Jagr’s run has been longer than hers, his too might also be coming to an abrupt end....
Jagr has been in a funk all season, enduring long scoring droughts and doing little to lead a Rangers team that began the year as a preseason favorite and now looks hard-pressed to make the postseason.

Mike Milbury figured out his problem on Sunday.
He doesn’t celebrate enough after he scores a goal.

ya, the same mike milbury that traded olli jokinen, roberto luongo, zdeno chara, top draft picks that could have resulted in Marian Gaborik, and Jason Spezza...ya, mike milbury knows his stuff. Milbury would have probably traded Jagr to the Panthers for a bag of pucks and a 4th line winger.

It should be pointed out that Jagr hasn’t made the All-Star team for the 3rd straight year because 2 years ago there was no ASG (Olympics) and last year he said no to it before they even picked the teams because of his bad shoulder. This year’s the first he hasn’t actually deserved it.
Also, how exactly is it that his tenure as a Ranger might come to an “abrupt end?” It’s highly doubtful he’ll be traded, even with the Caps picking up 1/2 his salary. His contract is up at the end of the season (there’s no way he’s reaching 84pts for the extention), so if he’s not re-signed, that’s not exactly “abrupt.” It’s normal. He’s at retirement age, anyway. After this year, it wouldn’t surprise me if he “retired” to the Czech league like he said he would if his game slipped too much.
