Selanne Frustrated With Ducks Mindset

from Randy Youngman of the OC Register,
Our whole mentality has to change,” a frowning Selanne said, standing in the middle of an otherwise empty locker room. “We’re thinking too much about scoring right now. We have to get back to our old mindset.”
And that is?
“The last three years, the success we’ve had here . . . our main focus was to shut down goals-against,” said Selanne, who has produced 18 points in 18 games. “We could always find a way to score three or four goals, and sometimes two was enough. But right now it’s more like, let’s score more than them, and the whole mentality has changed.
“We can’t expect to win games 5 to 4. This team has never been like that. Some nights – here and there, maybe – but not on a regular basis. We need to start thinking differently.”

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

Forget that “shut down goals-against” nonsense. Here’s what he meant to say.. “Goon it up. Cheapshot everyone in sight. Head-hunt anyone who moves. And basically make any opposing player fear for his very life when he steps on the ice. You know, Ducks hockey!”
The least he could do was be honest about it.
