from Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen via the National Post,
With big names such as Patrick Marleau, Olli Jokinen and Marian Hossa, a pending free agent, available on the trade market and a better-than-average draft class arriving, there could be plenty of activity.
Senators general manager Bryan Murray is believed to have interest in Marleau and Jokinen.
Trade talk among NHL teams has heated up considerably as the draft approaches.

Warren says:
they’ve told free-agent backup Olaf Kolzig they won’t be bringing him back.
I understood it the other way around… that it was Kolzig who decided he would not be back.

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

Murray interested in Jokinen, let alone Marleau, after signing centres Spezza and Fisher to long term expensive contracts? Plus he wants to trade up in the draft? Add in the thought that there’s “no way” Hossa will stay with the Penguins, and I think it seems as though Warren’s on the wrong side of every rumour out there. They are only rumours, but it does seem like someone’s not done any homework in a long time.
