Despite the fact they advanced to the Stanley Cup final last season and currently lead the Eastern Conference with a record of 22-7-3, the Senators are one of the worst road draws in the league, ranking 26th among 30 teams.
Jason Spezza isn’t complaining, though. In fact, he suggests the small numbers almost make home-ice advantage meaningless.
“When you’re on the road, you’re never too worried about the crowd,” said Spezza, currently on a torrid pace, with five goals and six assists in his past four games. “It works to our advantage if it’s a dead building.”
