Sens Lose Alfredsson and Fisher for “Weeks”

From TSN,
The Ottawa Senators will not have forwards Daniel Alfredsson and Mike Fisher in their lineup for the forseeable future, as head coach and general manager Bryan Murray told reporters Friday that both players have knee injuries and will be out for “weeks.”
Making things worse for Ottawa’s captain is a head injury suffered after a hit by Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mark Bell on Thursday night, identified by the team as an upper body injury.

As a Pittsburgh fan, I’m ok not seeing Alfie or the Sens in the playoffs. With that roster, the Sens’ fans will watch with or without him.
Bad for the Sens? Absolutely.
Bad for hockey? Absolutely not.
Oh, and unless there was some masked sarcasm in this statement:
“Now I, along with everyone else, will miss his scintillating performances.”
...speak for yourself only, please. I’d rather see them fall out of the playoffs and see Washington or Philly take their place. I kind of hope they flame out these last two games. I’d laugh all summer, no matter what happens in the playoffs.

Well, Phil, as a Red Wings fan, I will miss Alfie. Just as much as I would miss Malkin or Crosby.

Everyone associated with hockey: Fans, players, managers and owners lose out.
I was looking forward to watching Alfie in the playoffs demonstrate his vision, stick handling and grace.
Now I, along with everyone else, will miss his scintillating performances.
His team will miss his tremendous leadership.
I ask Mark Bell: Did this have to happen? Could you have made an effective play without ending his season?
