from Alexander Zaitsev of RussianHockeyFans,
Sergei Fedorov, who moved from NHL to KHL past summer, got into a fight with Roman Derlyuk to avenge Derlyuk’s dirty hit on Sergei’s younger brother, Fedor.

Agreed Paul, should be protocol.

The argument against taking the helmet off is that if they tumble to the ice, could sustain major head injuries. (Happened in the AHL I believe)

That argument is fine and all, but what about the, oh, 70 or so years that players didn’t wear helmets at all anyway?
If it turns into a wrestling match, break it up.
However, that’s not the issue here. Can’t believe Sergei fought someone, though I didn’t see the original hit…

No hockey players were injured in the taping of this fight.

Love the fan with the “man purse” clapping. Shows you what a real hockey league the KHL is.

It’s not a “purse” . It’s a “European Men’s bag”. And they are quite the accessory in France.
Seriously, I missed it the first time and had to go back and watch again. I almost pissed my pants laughing.

I’m pretty sure the first shot of a fan there is a guy picking his nose. I agree not much of a fight. It almost seemed like they did not know what they were doing. Sort of like an awkward “oh we are going to fight, what should I do, you are taking off your helmet, oh right now I will take off mine, ok we fight now”

No joke OTC, but I think that was Daddy Fedorov. He has the same nose and was rooting for Feds, even though he tumbled while taking a swing.
Fedorov breaks my heart. He could have been a living legend if he had stayed with the Wings. Fuchhhh

osrt, fedorov is a living legend already. anyone who watched him play knows that.

not much of a fight, but I do like the players’ respect for each other in taking off their helmets before throwing punches. many NHL players could learn from that kind of thing.
