Shark Man

from the Marin Independent Journal,

If all goes well for Sharks fan Ken Conroy of San Rafael, they will eventually play Detroit in the playoffs and he will once again mock a Red Wings playoff tradition by throwing a real ice-cold shark deep onto the San Jose Arena ice. Last May 2, Conroy’s conspiracy plan was launched and it landed with a thud on the rink in front of a sellout crowd, setting off a mayday response from arena security personnel.

Beware: Conroy and Company are prepared to do it again.

This moron calls himself a Sharks fan?  I was at that game when the idiot threw the Shark on the ice.  Just what everyone needed to see, a dead Shark.  Talk about bad karma.  I’m sure the Sharks’ players appreciated the symbolism because the promptly lost that game and the series.

I’m a diehard Wings fan in San Francisco. There’s actually quite a few of us here. I’ve had Sharks seasons ticket packs for years, also. Knowing quite a few Shark fans, I’ve gathered that they would really like to be US. Wings fans. They love us and hate us. They see our history, our success, and our passion and really want that badly for their team. This jealousy manifests itself as anger, resulting in non-hilarious stunts/statements like this.

Only REAL sharks fans got the meaning of the stunt.  Read the whole article...my great uncle who is from Canada who is 90 and played up untill only a couple of years ago found it great and appreciated it.  Sharks public affairs guy that it was great.  After my dad threw it, the sharks club house manijor came and asked me questions because the players thought it was so great...THEY LOVED IT.  My teacher who was born and raised wings fan that it was hilarious and got the meaing as well.  If this was a stupid stunt then why was it on every news station and when a IJ writer found out it was a guy from Marin who threw it want to write a story about it?  It will happen again but expect it different and MUCH BETTER.

This is the dumbest thing ever, hopefully someone forwarded this article to the Sharks so they keep an eye out for this moron. Only real fans got it and the Sharks loved it? I read the article, the guy had to hide in the bathroom like a coward and STILL got got caught and tossed out of the arena, then had to sneak back in. And they questioned you not because they liked it, it was so they could get as much info about it so they know to watch out for this guy next time. Yet these people are proud of this? Throwing a DEAD symbol of their team on to the ice? So if he was a Ducks fan would he throw a dead duck on the ice? Or how about a dead bear if was a Bruins fan? This guy obviously has no clue why the Wings tradition even started, and doing it doesn’t mock them, it only gives Sharks fans a bad rep among the rest of the league, it was bad enough when we had some idiot fans boo the Canadian anthem the playoffs before, now this moron’s attention-grabbing hijinx.
