Numerous reports of Jody Shelley getting suspended for two games for his sucker punch on Alberts last night.
added 4:28pm,
TORONTO (December 29, 2010) – Philadelphia Flyers forward Jody Shelley has been suspended for two games and will forfeit $26,829.27 in salary for a punch to the head of Vancouver Canucks defenseman Andrew Alberts during a scrum in NHL game #544, on December 28, the National Hockey League announced today.
Shelley, who was suspended for two games on December 13, 2010, is considered a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Accordingly, he forfeits his salary based on the number of games in the season (82), rather than the number of days (186). The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

Lucic hit a guy who was restrained, making it worse. Wait a second….

And the difference between Shelley’s punch and Lucic’s was what again?
Shelley doesn’t have Colin Campbell’s son on his team.

Watch the NHL announce that Stamkos has been suspended for his not-remotely-illegal hit on Colie Jr.

Shelley isn’t the closest thing the Flyers have to a non-goalie star on their roster.

G to L, I think he is saying that Lucic does fall into that category for the B’s (although with Chara and Savard around, I don’t necessarily agree), while Shelley does not fall into that category for the Flyers.

NHLJeff had it right.
Lucic isn’t really a star, but behind Chara, Thomas, and maybe Savard, he’s the closest thing to a bankable name in Boston. Meanwhile, Jody Shelley is a plugger who nobody will miss.
