Should Luongo Keep The ‘C’?

from Tony Gallagher of the Vancouver Province,
Luongo was named captain of the Canucks for all the right reasons. He is the leader of this team and it was certainly a good decision at the time. He led again this year, although perhaps not in the direction most were hoping for. And he led in that less desirable direction for lots of different reasons, not the least of which was the defence in front of him and the ridiculous workload which is finally being seen for the detriment it is.
Alain Vigneault said after Game 4 that Louie was the second-best goalie on the ice and he was, which isn’t surprising because it was coming from the second-best coach in the series.
That coach might also have pointed out that Henrik Sedin was the second-best top centre, the entire top six was second-best top six and the back end was the second-best defensive unit in the series as well. But even the coaches have a fixation on Luongo, yet they wonder why the fans and the media are the same way.
For starters, what’s the alternative? If Luongo isn’t captain, who is? And what happens if and when the ‘C’ were removed from Luongo’s name; what would change?

Goalies shouldn’t wear C’s.
They also shouldn’t use the number 1. No player should.
