There we sat in GM Place, studying the NHL’s daily stats package at the morning skate Thursday, with 42 per cent of the 2007-08 regular season in the books, and only five out of 30 teams under .500.
That’s hard to fathom, since traditional sports logic dictates that the number of juggernauts in a given league ought to be balanced by a similar number of bottom-feeders, and the slightly above-average should roughly equal the middling-poor.
