Some Trade Chatter

from Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun,
Lightning GM Jay Feaster is trying to move C Brad Richards, who has a no-trade clause. Feaster would like to keep potential UFA D Dan Boyle, but can’t unless he deals Richards, who is making $7.8 million US a season. Boyle could be headed to the Sharks, Rangers or Senators
Devils D Karel Rachunek is about to be dealt. He was a healthy scratch yesterday vs. the Hurricanes. The chatter is he could be sent to Chicago for C Robert Lang.
read on for more, but it is the same names, just a different day…

$7.8 million?!?!?!
I don’t think a ‘no trade’ clause is needed in this case. That will be tough to swallow anywhere.

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

Sounds like a fair trade since TSN.ca lists Rachunek’s flaws as: “Must use his size more effectively in order to make more of an impact. More grit would help his game overall.”
And Bobbie Lang’s flaws? Well, we all know what those are: “Plays a soft game for his 6-2, 216-pound frame. Has a below-average work ethic.”
Yup. Tit-for-tat on that trade. (Hmmmm. Can we say tit-for-tat here at KK?)
