Stastny Hurts Shoulder

from Adrian Dater of All Things Avs,
Paul Stastny came off the ice early today, with his right shoulder sagging and clearly in pain. The Avs’ lone all star from last year had a collision during a scrimmage (not sure who he collided with yet or the exact circumstances), but Stastny immediately headed for the dressing room, clearly favoring his shoulder....
The Avs are calling Stastny’s injury just a “contusion”, and don’t believe it’s anything serious. But as we all know, sometimes things have a way of not turning out the way the Avs first say it is, when it comes to injuries.

The official report on day 1 of camp says that Stastny should be fine. It was “just a contusion”
Although I’m a bit distrustful of the Avs medical staff after some misdiagnosing last year, I can’t see them mistaking a bruise for a separated shoulder.
So I’m tentatively mildly optimistic

What a shame that the injury bug couldn’t even wait until the season started. I hope it isn’t serious - he’d be a tough player for Colorado to replace.
