Staubitz Hammers Tootoo

from David Pollak of Working the Corners,
The fight began with Staubitz pursuing the Predator (Tootoo) pest across the ice. When they finally went at it, you could almost feel the punches up in the rafters as Staubitz connected with punch after punch, forearm after forearm. Tootoo got an excused absence from the penalty box as he headed to the dressing room for stitches and who knows what other treatments. He didn’t return until the third period, and even then saw limited action.
So was it triggered by anything specific?

This is the best thing anyone on the Sharks has ever done.
Tootoo is one of the cheapest, dirtiest, crappiest players in the league. He’s had this coming for years now. Frankly, I’m surprised it took this long for him to really get his due.
I would guess that Staubitz was just finally able to do what so many players in the league have tried to do for years—get that slimy SOB into a real fight, and turn his face into mush. Normally, I am not much for the fighting, but this is something Tootoo has deserved hard for a long time. And you know what? I hope his first shift out on the ice after he recovers from this? He gets pummeled again. Then maybe he’d be a little more respectful of the game and other players with the way he hits, and when that happens, he’ll land in the ECHL because he’s a useless hockey player if he can’t play dirty.

The only thing I would have rather seen was for this to happen in NSH. Wonder how hard Pred fan would have been using those dam@ whistles then!

Amen to that. He needed to get his ass handed to him for a while. Man, I think I’ve been wanting to see him get his ass kicked even more than I want to see Avery get his ass served on a platter. I hate Tootoo with a passion. He is just a DIRTY DIRTY player.

Avery is obnoxious. He is a circus. For his exposure and his comments… it just drives you batty. But Tootoo is a downright dirty player.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Avery get smacked, but the two things you can say about him that you can’t say about Tootoo—he doesn’t try to hurt guys, and he actually has a little bit of skill. If he’d get his head clear, Avery could be a Holmstrom-type guy, power play specialist, play 12 or 13 minutes per night and put up 20 goals, with 10 or 12 of them on the PP.

I don’t consider myself a violent or vengeful man but, as a Red Wings fan, I can’t tell you how personally satisfying it is to see this.
Way to go, Staubitz. San Jose continues to make it impossible for me to hate them.

I watched most of the Sharks-Preds game on the Internet last night. And while I hated seeing the Sharks get those two points, I went to bed grinning from ear to ear just thinking about that punk TwoTwo’s face getting all mashed up. I just wish Staubitz would have thrown an uppercut right at the end there and laid that little piece of turd out.

I’m not 100% sure a Wings Cup would make me any happier than watching that video (over and over and over) did.
It probably would, but man.

I really like how we’re all just stopping short of saying we hope Staubitz injured him in that fight.
I see right through us.

It’s cool, Nathan. I’ll say it:
I hope Staubitz hurt him. Bad.
As much as people around the league hate Pronger, Avery, etc… Tootoo is (with maybe the exception of Steve Downie) the dirtiest hockey “player” I have ever seen. He regularly does stuff that would make Ulf Samuelsson blush… it’s a minor miracle nobody has stuck their stick through his face yet.

It truly is better to be hated than ignored. Thanks Toots. Keep it up. You are now 53-1. Nicely done.

And just like everyone says, if the player you hate was wearing your team’s jersey, you’d love him. That includes 22.

It’s not so great being hated if it winds up getting you multiple concussions and you wind up a drooling idiot by the time you hit your 40th birthday.
Tootoo should tone it down a little and remember that there is a puck on the ice, too - not just opposing players to run over and cheapshot. Try playing hockey once in a while and his long-term health would be better off.

And for the record, he’s one of the players that if he was wearing the jersey of my team, I’d root for him to miss the season with a blown out knee so they could put his cap space to good use on a more useful player.
That is completely true of some players, but not Tootoo as far as I’m personally concerned.
He’s a gutless puke cheap-shot artist.

Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving guy. He has much to be humble about.

And how many of those 53 were fair fights against actual fighters, when those fighters were ready to fight? A nice round number, like maybe zero?
Tootoo is a simple coward. Things like this are why he shies away from actual fighters, who would mess him up pretty badly. He instead prefers to pick fights with those he feels he can outfight.

It would have been nice to see his nose a little further off to the side of his face.

Adolf Hitler, Saddam Husseim and Osama Bin Laden all felt/feel the same way. You must be so proud, Predneck, that TuTu is held in the same esteem as individuals like that. I mean, when Ms. B, the very voice of reason and sensibility around here, uses a phrase like “gutless puke cheap-shot artist,” you know your guy is right there with the rest of the scum of the earth.

There are no forearms or elbows, how the heck are people coming up with this? in fast motion it maybe looks like it but in the slow mo you can clearly see the punches being grazed/landed on the left side of tootoo’s head.

Looked like he connected more times with the forearm and elbow pad more than the fist, no wonder he got cut up so bad. Good tilt though.
