Sundin Update

Mats Sundin was on Leafs Lunch on 640AM in Toronto.
He is not at the point to make a decision on his NHL career. He had hoped during the summer he would get a clearer picture, but stated he is not there yet.
Probably will not make a decision by the time training camps open. Does not have a time line for his decision.
He has been working out but not skating on a regular basis. Again, not sure of what he will do yet and hopes people respect he is not at the point to where his career is headed.
added 12:49pm, Sundin stated he has not even looked at team options yet. Wants to decide if he is even going to play first.
Update 3:15pm ET: At AM640,
Sundin said despite offers from several clubs the decision of wether or not to play is still the biggest hurdle. Sundin also didn’t rule out a return to the NHL halfway through the season.

Why would anyone want this guy? He has NEVER won anything and he isn’t even sure he wants to play. You would have to be completely hopeless to want him......hello Vancouver and Toronto!!!!

Can’t wait to say ‘called it’ when he signs with a contender in 09.

Most times a person goes through this “should i retire, should i play” thing, they end up regretting their decision.
Lets say he plays, and doesn’t like it, can’t cut it, whatever, he can just retire.
But if he sits out this season, doesn’t stay in shape, and then decides later that he wants to come back, well its almost too late and he will regret it forever.
I honestly don’t care, but I’d like to hear everyone stop talking about it, and don’t want to hear people talking about it all season because he makes the wrong decision.

Sundin will be back in Toronto - he’s smart enough to have left a loophole!
