Suspension For Roloson?

from David Staples of The Cult of Hockey,
The NHL is as soft on crime as the most liberal, feeling-sorry-for-criminals judge in the Dominion, so don’t expect Dwayne Roloson to be suspended for his uppercut, goalie stick chop at Daniel Cleary’s private parts.
But Roloson deserves to be out a few games for that one. Imagine the upset and anger in Edmonton if an opposition goalie did that to Ales Hemsky.

Roloson is the whiniest ‘tender in the league. If anyone gets within five feet of him, he falls down like he was shot, then bounces right up and yells at the ref for 10 minutes.
He must have been a soccer player in a former life.

I think Roloson’s stunt really pissed off the Wings. The score was what, 5-0 after the first period? Rolly woke up the sleeping giant.

Freaking ridiculous. What the hell kind of “hockey play” is that? There are things that can be expected on the ice, but not something like that. I’d call that intent to injure.

Now, I love Roli’s little Hextall streak as much as the next guy, but this was way over the line. Not only was it a stupid penalty that cost the team a goal, but you just don’t go there. Maybe he meant to whack him on the ass or leg and missed, but that’s no excuse. Nail a man in the twig and berries, you deserve a beating or a suspension.

Reminded me a lot of this. You do remember this, right?
What did he get for this slash?

Absolutely Roli should be suspended! But he won’t be. Not because “ìt’s the Red Wings” (so hard done by) but because the league doesn’t suspend for this kind of thing, never has.
Already this year we’ve seen an incident with similar intent to the same region of the body with no suspension.

It happened to a Red Wing, so no suspension. Business as usual.
Bettman might float Rollie a fiver and a love-note.
