Sutter Coaching His Way

(Brent) Sutter says general manager Lou Lamoriello didn’t hire him to coach like those who preceded him here. That’s why you won’t see the Devils sitting back in the neutral zone during even-strength situations anymore.
“I wasn’t hired and [told], ‘You’ve got to coach this way. That’s the way we’ve coached here for the last …,” Sutter said.
“No, it was, ‘We want this new blood. We want another perspective on how the game is played.’ ”
