Can’t believe Niedermayer got the boarding and misconduct. Pronger was the one with the blow to the head.

I would put most of the blame on Pronger.

After the Ducks get knocked out I wonder where Pronger is gonna demand a trade to next. ha

You can see from the first screen cap that they both knew they were in for the hit. That’s the dirtiest of plays that I’ve seen in a long time. Sickening. Pronger has always been a bit of a cheap shot artist but this is beyond dirty.

THAT WAS TOTALLY PRONGER’S CHEAP SHOT TO THE HEAD. SHOULD BE SUSPENDED NOW!

Both should be gone for at least 3 games.  They both hit Homer with an intent to injure, I say Guilty as charged.

The NHL is a joke. In any other league the intentional injury of a player would not go unpunished. I can’t believe Pronger wasn’t penalized on that play. Truly shameful for Pronger and truly disgraceful for the league.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Carlyle told them to do the hit.  The game is lost anyway.  If they take Homer out for the series, and Neider takes a game misconduct, that is a very good deal for the cucks.  This is assasination, pure and simple.

that’s what you get if you wear a visor and come from europe......

Pronger going to get atleast 3 game for this. people in league’s office doesnt have balls to suspended a big name for good period time…

It was frusrtation taken to the extreme level.....

Homer is back on the ice to start the 3rd.  Two lacerations sutured up and a big knot on his head.  He must be another “soft European”, eh, Grapes?

Holmstrom has played so many years watching Yzerman play with numerous injuries, as long as he didn’t have a concusion there was no way that he wouldn’t be back. It still doesn’t excuse the dirty play that Pronger made. Look at the position of his stick in those photos. There’s no way he wasn’t planning on making a dirty hit. It’s disgusting. I love tough hockey but there’s a difference between playing tough (Homer) and playing dirty (Pronger).

Homer is just one tough sonofagun.

Besides, his hometown is so far north it’s practically in northern Canada.  (And he didn’t wear a visor until he cut in eyelid in the Calgary series, if it matters so much.)

The Wings are crazy to let Holmstom back out there and give the cheapshot Ducks another shot at him.

Don’t be surprised if the NHL does nothing.  Besides the fact that Colin Campbell is an idiot, Pronger gets away with a lot of crap.

There is your superstar, Norris candidacy defense at it’s finest.

Just another reason Nick deserves the Norris over the goons.

I think a game off is in order for Pronger. I would be surprised if he gets more than a fine, though.

This incident will prove once again that the league has no balls.  They pay lip service to getting cheapshots, and this year the focus is on shots to the head, out of the game - then when it comes time they don’t do shit.  Just like they didn’t suspend Iginla when he clearly deserved it.

I laugh at your ignorance. Do you think the referees have the same 20 time over replay you have so they can analyze every single play that happens? No. They saw a mass of bodies and Niedermayer was in there last so it was assumed he did the damage. Usually a safe assumption.

This will only be disgraceful if they don’t give Pronger a nice fat suspension.

I think we need to wait with our reaction until the NHL comes down with a ruling.. and live by that ruling.

Darn. My ignorance hates getting laughed at. Is it unreasonable to expect one of two referees to make an obvious call that occurs right on top of the puck? I saw Pronger’s elbow the first time around, and I had to watch the game on Versus.

Don’t hold your breath on a Pronger suspension.

Brad May was suspended three games for punching Kim Johnsson in the back of the head in the series against Minnesota.  I don’t see much difference in the actions of Rob Niedermayer and Chris Pronger.  Niedermayer might get slapped on the wrist but there is no way Pronger is held accountable.

Detroit has to make the Ducks pay by winning Game 4.

I disagree completely.  Niedermayer’s check would have been perfectly clean if not for Pronger’s influence on Homer’s body position.

Yeah, talented players deserve to get cheapshotted.  Why wouldn’t Pronger be a man and fight him instead of being a little girl and hitting him from behind?

You’re just jealous that your team doesn’t have Holmstrom, that the Wings scouting is better.
