Talking Ron Wilson

from Greg Wyshynski of PuckDaddy,
Like the source of Taco Bell’s ground beef and the possibility of a “Lady In The Water” sequel, the potential for Toronto Maple Leafs Coach Ron Wilson losing his job at this point in the season is something I’ve refused to contemplate.
added 12:27pm, from Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun,
Reeling from their worst start in almost 20 years, the 0-4-1 Leafs called up centre Tyler Bozak from the Marlies, apparently benching forwards Matt Stajan and Niklas Hagman and sitting goalie Vesa Toskala out with a lower body injury.
”Why not?,” coach Ron Wilson said of the high-profile benchings. “We need more from everyone, we’re giving opportunities to younger guys.”

if wilson gets fired it would be a perfect example of a coach getting fired because of the missmanagement of the team

They went out and got all that talent and the egos aren’t matching. Beauchemin is a prime example…it must be the “playing for a new fa contract” deal.
Toskala hasn’t been as piss poor as people make him out to be. The defense isn’t good and there’s buy in to the defense from the offense. This spells doom for a team with very little size.

Like the move to bring in the young blood. They are sitting the wrong guys though. Mitchell should be sent down (for good), and Blake should be sitting this game out tonight.
Burke was saying how he could make the Kessel trade because of the young players they have - well hell, lets get those guys in the lineup.
A lot of emphasis on how bad the D are, lets not forget the forwards have to do their part as well, and they are not even close to being where they need to be. Once they get the roster properly set things may get better but for anyone who thought a playoff spot was a possibility - this start is a little dose of reality for you!
Toskala is brutal, should just send him down and go with MacDonald, Monster and Reimer for the rest of the season. No need is wasting time on a guy who will not be with the team next season.
