No idea about TSN Greg, but NHL Network is in the middle of Game 5 Habs/Flyers from last night.

I disappointed the NHL Network isn’t broadcasting this in real time. Asinine. This is major news, and they don’t telecast it live?

Congrats Captain.
He certainly earned the position, but damn, seeing him without the Wings logo behind him made me vomit a little.

Brian Lawton was picked ahead of Yzerman in the ‘83 draft. Now he preceded him as the GM of Tampa Bay.
Lawton 1st pick -Bust
Yzerman 4th pick-Jackpot
Lawton GM-Failure
Yzerman GM-?, The Lightning’s fanbase can only hope the trend continues and Yzerman has a GM tenure that’s as successful as his playing career.

What are the odds Paul MacLean gets a interview for head coach?

Can’t wait to wear my White Yzerman jersey to an impromptu vacation for whenever the Wings next visit TB. Stamkos and TB have already had a soft spot in my heart, especially after they fired Melrose.
I have no problem having a team in the East I can get behind that isn’t part of the NHL’s scripted Crosby vs. Ovechkin, Crosby vs. Staal (Eric), Crosby vs. Philadelphia, Pitt vs. Buffalo, or Pitt/Crosby vs. X drama.

Just learnin’ the ropes on Tampa’s dime until he is ready to come back home and take over the Red Wings.
Not bad…not bad at all.

I thought he was doing that already, from the best in the business the last 4 years?

There’s only so much you can learn by watching. Eventually you have to get on the bike yourself and ride.
Having said that, I’m not sure Red Winger’s right. I think Yzerman might be seeing this as a great opportunity to get out from under the, no pun intended, wings of the organization and go out on his own.
