From Damian Cristodero at Lightning Strikes,
The Mats Sundin thing notwithstanding, the Lightning’s final move today likely will be signing goaltender Olaf Kolzig. It’s not done, but talks apparently are going well.
Update 2:27pm ET: From Erik Erlendsson at the Tampa Tribune,
Got word that the team is getting there on a deal with Kolzig and the team is still in the mix for Rolston.
Update 2:49pm ET: Fan590 is saying the Kolzig deal is done. And Lightning Strikes has an update on Mike Smith:
As if the Lightning wasn’t busy enough today, now it appears the team will announce a contract extension, believed to be for two years, for goaltender Mike Smith. The goalie has one year left on his contract that pays $950,000 next season.
Update 4:21pm ET: TSN tracker notes that Kolzig signed for $1.5 million
