In case you missed the news yesterday…
from Dan Steinberg of D.C. Sports Bog,
After five solid years, Tarik El-Bashir’s run as our Capitals writer is coming to an end. When Tarik took over the Capitals beat - back when the jerseys were teal, black and bronze, the NHL was bust and few of us knew what an Ovechkin was - the Capitals were bottom feeders in the D.C. sports hierarchy. No more. And no one covering the team has chronicled its remarkable rise better, more diligently and with more good spirit than Tarik. They still haven’t won the Cup, but Tarik is ready for a new challenge.
Over the years, I have had some interaction with Tarik and always found him to be sincere and fair when it came to the Caps. Best of luck in the future Tarik.
