Good call, w2j2. I has scanned that list once and had missed Danny’s name. Definitely speaks volumes as to how far he’s come.

No Spezza, not really all that surprised. No Osgood, thought he would at the least get an invite to camp.

Boy, how do you invite Andy McDonald over Marc Savard?

I second JG on that one! Also would have liked to see Spezza at the camp at least.

Just noticed this
“Players not invited to the National Men’s Team orientation camp can still be considered for both the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and 2010 IIHF World Championship. “
A good just in case we overlooked someone who has the year of their lives clause… lol

Of the 16 blueliners invited to camp only 3 are from the East (make that 2 if you count Pronger as a Western defenseman). That is amazing.

All 3 Staals invited
Babcock: Yeah, let’s give that Staal kid an invite.
Yzerman: Which one?
Babcock: *mumbles while munching on a cracker*
Yzerman: Uh. Okay, all three. We’ll sort it out later.

Congrats to Dan Cleary. Finally…
For the forward corps, start with a strong group of centermen and then fill out the rest. If I had my druthers, I’d start with Lecavalier as the first line centerman.
