Teams In The Wrong & Right Direction

from Ted Montgomery at USA TODAY,
Let’s take a look at NHL teams that really need to start over, and other teams that have finally started to make their ascent up that long hill to respectability.
Teams that need to start over:Toronto: How much longer will it be before the Toronto brass realizes that you build a successful team from the goaltender out? The goaltending situation in Toronto is murky and the defense is its usual leaky set of castoffs and wannabes. It would take an offense on a par with the 1985 Edmonton Oilers to overcome the problems the Leafs have created for themselves....
Ottawa: Once the cream of the Eastern Conference, the Senators have ridden their three horses to the point of exhaustion, not to mention unrelenting frustration. Dany Heatley, Daniel Alfredsson and Jason Spezza are all very good players, but the mix obviously isn’t working.

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

Has this guy not been paying attention to what the Senators have been doing the past few months? Cory Clouston has as many wins behind the bench this season as Craig Hartsburg did - but in 20 fewer games!
Not only that, but the Sens will have a bona fide #1 ‘tender next season (something they’ve never had) in Pascal Leclaire, and have two very capable-looking guys duking it out for the backup job in Brian Elliott and Alex Auld.
2008 - the calendar year - was very, very bad for the sens. 2009 has started off quite alright.
