There is no doubt in my mind that Alex the Gr8 is the best player in the world, say what you want about Crosby, Malkin, Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Datsyuk. They all pale in comparison to Ovechkin, maybe not Lidstrom, but the rest of them don’t even come close.

My favorite part is how he waves his teammates over and is all “Come on guys, I’ll celebrate from my butt! I’m that good!”

Still not quite as jaw-dropping as his goal against PHX (we lal know the one)... but I say I have to agree with the guys on ESPN on this one. As magnificent as the shot was to still get the goal, the pass to himself off the boards, followed by the spin to retrieve it, was the meat of that play. Before I’d even seen the finish the first time, I saw that first part and let out a “Whoah”.
Can we all finally drop the argument now? Ovechkin is clearly the superior player to Crosby. He simply has greater will, and it comes through night after night.
Do yourselves a favor, NHL, and stop pumping Crosby so much. And instead, pump the more-colorful personality, the better player, and all around more-fun guy to watch: Alex Ovechkin. The fans WILL come.

That was funny. “No, no, don’t wait for me to get up - I want a celebratory hug now!”
