The Blackhawks Movie

from Mike Kiley of Blackhawks Confidential at ChicagoNow,

I see Alec Baldwin in the Tallon role, Steve Buscemi as McDonough, SpongeBob Squarepants as Rocky Wirtz, Jason Alexander as Stan Bowman, Don Rickles as Scotty Bowman (is Rickles still alive? wouldn’t matter with the limited Scotty dialogue), Burt Reynolds (get me makeup) as coach Joel Quenneville, a bearded Colin Farrell as a very angry Irish kind of revolutionary Czech playing Martin Havlat and a curly-wigged Will Ferrell replicating Marian Hossa.

So years from now, two or three Jonathan Toews-led championships down the road, you will have an Oliver Stone-type movie version offering the dark details of how Tallon got his career misconduct penalty and the affair will assume the nefarious overtones of “Who Killed Cock Robin,” snuggling into Hawks history alongside Reay’s Yuletide log roll.
