Since the lockout the Leafs have been getting beat up on the score board often, as a fan that sucks but to make it worse they were also physically getting beat up more than any Leaf team I can remember.
Burke put his stamp on the team this off-season to rectify both of those problems.
This team should be the most defensive and toughest team the Leafs have had since 2004.
Win or lose, they will be more enjoyable to watch!

This whole ‘70’s mentality ain’t gonna win. They need guys with grit and skill (Zetterberg, Crosby,Iginla). That’s the toughness they need . Not a bunch of fighters like Colton Orr. While Komisarek is a good d-man (top 2-3), He’s not going to provide much offence from the back end.
Not sure if the Leafs will score enough goals to win many games this season but their added toughness and grit should make them more entertaining to watch at the very least.

I agree if you like fighting, but isn’t the goal there to win the Stanley Cup.

“I agree if you like fighting, but isn’t the goal there to win the Stanley Cup. “
Not in the “NEW NHL”. The object of the game is to cause injury to skill players.

Is there some new rule where hockey montages need to have “Where the Streets Have No Name” as their soundtrack?
