from Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic,
Jeff Farrar doesn’t fit the mold of a traditional pastor.
A former linebacker at UCLA, Farrar is known more for his jokes around the Coyotes’ locker room than his preaching style.
“He’s not your average priest or guy who spreads the word of joy and love,” said forward Peter Mueller. “He’s kind of a comedian, which is actually pretty funny.”
But Farrar’s job isn’t solely to lighten the mood among the players. For the past 11 years, Farrar has acted as the team’s chaplain, offering spiritual guidance to those interested and providing an outlet for players to discuss the pressures of hockey and life in general.
