The big change, and few saw this coming, is in how Gillis seems to have influenced head coach Alain Vigneault. How else can you explain the flipped script that has the Canucks at the top in scoring and near the bottom of the league in defence?

Despite Vigneault’s denials, the offensive screws, and their two years of rust, were unhinged in the season’s first month. The welcome result meant aggressive, pressuring, flowing, flying, careless, mistake-prone and oh-so entertaining hockey. And that is exactly what Gillis promised in the summer.

Where are the goals coming from? How about everywhere.
