It was a great night for John Tavares and the New York Islanders on Friday night.
It was great for the team with the way they unveiled everything. And it was great for Tavares - the most heavily scouted player in the history of the modern day NHL draft.
It was also a memorable night for the Canadian development system. Canadian players were in four of the top five selections in the order, seven of the first 10 and 17 of the first 30.
